Hair Loss

Regrowth is a process — here is the science behind it.

Most hair loss in men is driven by a hormone called DHT gradually shrinking hair follicles. Effective treatment attacks the problem from two directions: blocking DHT and boosting blood flow to the follicle.

How the combo works in your body

Blocking DHT

Finasteride reduces the conversion of testosterone into DHT — the hormone that miniaturizes follicles — protecting the hair you have.

Feeding the follicle

Minoxidil widens the tiny blood vessels around each follicle, delivering more oxygen and nutrients so follicles can grow thicker, stronger hair.

Two mechanisms, one goal

Used together, they both defend existing hair and encourage regrowth — which is why combination therapy outperforms either alone for many patients.

Finasteride + Minoxidil Combo

Finasteride blocks DHT production; minoxidil improves follicle blood flow and prolongs the hair growth phase.

Format
Finasteride is a small once-daily tablet. Minoxidil is available as a topical solution or foam applied to the scalp (and in some plans, low-dose oral form as your prescriber directs).
Strengths
Typical regimens use finasteride 1 mg daily and minoxidil 5% topical — your prescriber confirms the exact strengths for your plan.

Your Treatment Journey

What a typical experience looks like — timelines vary from person to person.

  1. Months 1–2

    Behind the scenes

No visible change yet — DHT levels drop and follicles begin recovering. Some patients notice slightly more shedding early on; this is temporary and normal.

  2. Months 3–4

    Shedding slows

Daily hair loss noticeably decreases. Fine, new hairs may start appearing at the hairline and crown.

  3. Months 6–9

    Visible regrowth

New growth thickens and coverage improves. Photos taken monthly make the change easy to see.

  4. Month 12+

    Full effect

Maximum results are typically visible around one year. Continued daily use maintains them — stopping treatment lets DHT resume its effect.
